(PRINCETON, NJ) October 5, 2007 – NetVeda – provider of network security software announces the release of Safety.Net, a multi-function network security product that offers intrusion, hacker, spyware and Trojan detection and prevention, Internet privacy, parental controls, traffic recoding, and bandwidth management.
Safety.Net empowers parents to apply rules at a gateway computer for all children’s computers. Safety.Net enables schools and libraries to enforce flexible, customized internet access policies to protect the privacy of the users. The following are some of the features that highlight its core functionality.
Firewall Protection: Safety.Net operates at system level to perform in-depth inspection of all internet content. Users can quickly enable standard internet security features, and easily define custom filters for advanced security. The Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) compliant network driver delivers high performance without memory or processor upgrades. Safety.Net runs on a stand-alone computer as a personal firewall or at a gateway as a network firewall to protect all LAN computers.
Internet Privacy: Safety.Net prevents outgoing personal information (such as social security, credit card and telephone numbers, school and home address, etc.) unintentionally to strangers on the Internet. Safety.Net enables users browse the web anonymously with restrictions on cookies and other browser information.
Parental Controls: Today, parents need to install security software at every PC. Safety.Net offers parental controls with a network based technology. In a multi computer home, parents can discretely enforce restrictions to safeguard children’s computers from malicious and objectionable Internet content without any need to install software on LAN computers. These restrictions can not be bypassed as they are enforced at gateway computer. Safety.Net enables restrictions on web search, web ratings, time limits, web site and web content independent of browser and search engine.
Live Network Monitor: Safety.Net provides a real-time network activity monitor to view the entire history of each network connection, from open to close. This helps parents to discretely monitor Internet usage of children and proactively set policies for safety and age-appropriate content. It also helps detect suspicious activities and identify malicious programs.
Traffic Rate Controls: Safety.Net provides a loss-less bi-direction rate controls for applications. Safety.Net allows custom rules to reserve bandwidth to improve the performance of rate sensitive applications such as VoIP phones.
Traffic Recording: Safety.Net offers granular, non-intrusive and real-time network activity recording in unattended mode, for trigger based recording based on applications, ports, destination hosts, domains or URL. The capture file format is compatible with PCAP/TCPDUMP specifications for analysis using third party tools, and may be imported into Ethereal for detail analysis. The capture file may also be viewed in printer friendly ASCII text formats.
Safety.Net is available as a free download to individuals for personal use. Safety.Net can run on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003 computers with single and multiple processors.
